Asset Evaluation in 2023 – Your Health

By January 10, 2023September 19th, 2023No Comments

In the next series of blogs we will talk about examining your assets in 2023. Determining your most valued assets, reviewing them, growing and improving them this year. If you are anything like me you are interested in how to make this year a better year than last. New year’s resolutions anyone?  That can be a daunting task as there is much room for improvement in so many areas so where do you start?  What to do to improve our business/work, our finances, our relationships, etc.  What are your most important assets, both tangible and intangible?

Since most of us tend to focus on their health in January; health and wellness is a great place to start. If you aren’t healthy, much of your focus on improving other things may take a backseat. If you really stop to think about it, your health is the most important intangible assets you have.

I am always interested in learning more about emerging medical news, cutting edge technologies regarding staying well and living longer, disease free. Things I noticed in most longevity research is there are usually common factors in staying healthy: Diet, Exercise, and Nature. Here are my bullet points for making improvements in my health this year:

-Diet: Eat whole food. Whole food your body was made to process. The more it’s been engineered, manipulated, fried, etc., the worse it is for your health. Food is your fuel, so you want it to be full of the vitamins and minerals you need. Be cognizant about what you consume for nutrition, not just for taste.

-Exercise: Get moving. Even if you just walk 20 minutes a day, ride your bike around the block, lift small weights, or garden. If we don’t move we atrophy. Sitting is the new smoking! I sit most of the weekdays in the car or at a desk. I want to be certain to counteract some of the sitting I do daily.

-Nature: Being outside in the sunlight is therapeutic. There is so much evidence out there to show the vitamin D, sunlight and the outside air is so good for the human body. Try to get outdoors daily. Step away from the screens and fluorescents for a little while each day.  You  just may notice a difference in your body and your mood!
